This thread starts out about my old black Camaro SS that I had and all the parts I bought for it and then wrecked. Then it turns into buying a roller transforming it into the car I have today.
This was my old car. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It was a 2001 Camaro SS SLP with 44,xxx miles on it. I bought it bone stock a few years ago with 13,071 miles on it and did every single modification to it. Back then I didn't know wtf I was doing so I paid RPM in Garner NC to do the work. I was such a fucking noob I was scared to unhook the battery without fucking something up lol. Over the years I have watched and taught myself everything. No longer scared to unhook the battery ![]() I had heads/cam/intake/exhaust done to this car. It made 474/428 on a dynojet and ran 11.79 @ 124.69 mph with a 2.01 60ft with the GM 10 bolt and stock 3.42s. Right before I deployed after putting the heads on I had PTV issues and blew a hole in a piston so I had to get the shortblock rebuilt. So that happened and got it back running and went off to Afghanistan. While deployed my wife was starting it for me here and there. I came back for 2 weeks during my 10 month deployment and drove it for a bit and then lost oil pressure. It spun all 5 main bearings. So once back overseas I reenlisted in the Marine Corps and started to go crazy buying parts etc. Here is most the parts I bought. No certain order... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

So I got home RPM had put the motor/trans setup in (all the other parts sitting at home still) and like 2 weeks after being back from deployment I wrecked the car from a deer running out in front of me and ABS being deleted I locked all the wheels up, skidded a ways into a ditch and rolled onto the roof. Here is the aftermath...
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I walked away from this with only scratches. The car was totaled obviously and insurance gave me $14,097. I paid my deductible and loan off and was left with roughly $5k in my pocket with my car and the motor/trans and other good parts still. I picked up this roller for $3300. ![]() ![]() ![]() I got it to my house and immediately started ripping shit out and hammering away and grinding, welding, sanding, primering etc.. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Started painting other shit too while everything was out. ![]() ![]() ![]() Got the car back from the painter. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Started putting some stuff back on and got my hood finally.
![]() ![]() Painted a bunch on the motor too. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Grinding the old subframes off lol. The car was well supported no worries. They wanted to do it so I let them as long as they didn't sue me lol. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Annnnnnnnnndd that's pretty much it lol. Lots of pics in this thread I know. Any questions at all feel free to ask. I wrecked my car on January 16th and was driving this new car around completed on March 10th or so. Had to wait 3 weeks for the painter. Shitload of work and effort that can't be understood by this thread. Lots of stuff still not pictured like my custom wire tuck etc.. Now the car just sits from all the damn weather |

Something not pictured is the SLP bowtie grille I got and had it paint matched and black bowtie.
Same one as this. This car was my inspiration also.

Yes I did. You have to lower and lean back the radiator. Custom brackets for that required. I have an extension piece that connects to it and leads it out to the inlet on the bumper then to a velocity stack for the track.

Love it but to me the wheel offset in the rear looks a little weird.
