Default Upcoming Event

This will be our first big race of the 2013 season. Should be an interesting race. We will be open that saturday for our 1st IHRA Summit points race, as well for test and tune and some of the dragsters will be making some shakedowns. Makes for a weekend with 2 days of great racing!

Yes, some of the dragster guys will be staying the night there. We are thinking about having a early bird race on sunday. Details coming soon.

Any details on that really bird race? Also are y'all gone have somebody in the staging lanes, keeping everything strait? And keeping it from becoming a big cluster?

will you guys please control the staging lanes this year. every year the staging lanes turn into a cluster with broken beer bottles all over the place and it's so crowded you cant even get to your car. please keep the party on the other side of the track

Thatd be nice! And maybe enforce wristbands for staging lanes? And only give them to real cars, not joe schmo with 26s and his 10 buddys. Itd be cool to have the music, and even concessions on the opposite side. Id rather walk to eat than fight to move a foot.

the best thing would be for only racers/crew to be allowed on the tower side, no exceptions, that would keep everyone out of the staging/pit area and everything would move a lot smoother

id also think about not allowing the test and tune cars on street tires to run, it would keep the track in a lot better shape for the dragsters and class guys, and cut down on the joe shmos with 26's

Im new to dorchester. been there past 2 sundays.. wont be going back. i watched a man wit his son and wife get harassed till the point they left because he wasnt going to run his truck that night. and im sure they wanted money. ive been approached to race for money 5times in the 2 times i've been there.
and i havent raced a vehicle or brought one race worthy. do all these people randomly walk up and ask everyone to race even if there with there family in the stands. i understand were you guys are coming from with the recent posts about the whole "scene" it isnt good one bit. i usually attend screven and its a much more friendly safer track. the past 2 weekends ive seen 0 enforcement of anything at dorchester, my 17month old son cant even walk on the grass cause of broken glass incase he falls.< we saw 3 patches of broken glass from the restrooms to the stands> more in the area the race cars/trailers were at.
and honestly i dont know if you could hand me a 50cal and offer 1000bucks for me to walk through that mass of people i saw last weekend around the race cars etc. there should be a maximum aloud per car or something im not sure. sorry my first post is negative on these forums. was trying to give my opinion on recent posts under thread

Doubt it will happen. Would love to try my hand at the race Easter Sunday but don't feel like dealing with the mob and the stuff not staying on schedule mainly bc all the bs in the pits. If it wasn't for all the concessions on the pit side I think I would work to keep the spectators on the other side or at least the block party. Probably just the block party/music on the others side would help a lot.

No shit. I dont recall a big group the last couple of weekends. The racers and "crew" the last few weeks is the norm. Thats why I was asking.

honestly. the conditions/track was so awful i would rather keep my vehicle to myself. incase for some odd reason i end up back there. yea its that bad there... and if the last 2 weekends is normal these people in dorchester dont know normal. a normal person doing "test n tune" doesnt need to have 20+ in his posse trying to confront every person to try to make a buck. The scene will make you want to grip a pistol in your pocket the whole time you are there. dorchester needs to clean there act up and look like a legitamit business/drag strip not a weekly hangout for hooligans. If they would get 2-3 local law enforcement to patrol the events the dragstrip would lose 80% the people i saw. wasnt cool trying to look around at vehicles with my family dodging the clouds of marijuana smoke and large packs of way out of hand people. like i said slowgreen99 if this is normal actions thats a sad state to be in imo..

I don't think anybody is gonna be hurt or upset if you decide to stay at home. They give you an opportunity to go out and race your vehicle on the weekend which nowadays is becoming more and more scarce. Large clouds of marijuana and large packs of way out of control people in the past two weekends? There hasn't been anyone out there and I've been out there both times this year. Don't take any offence to this but either a big liar or seriously exaggerating. (20+ people in a posse) hell there wasn't twenty people in one large group there let alone some posse looking for a race. I've been going out there nearly every weekend for the past five+ and never felt the need to grip a pistol in your pocket.

Chessa has always been this way. I used to go to cooper river or midway for this reason. I would NOT be on the premisis without a sidearm on my persons. I have seen too much crazy shit go down out there......

Things are alot better now than they use to be(15-20yrs ago). If you are that paronoid, maybe you need to find another hobby like knitting or croquet.
