Default 4th gen camaro rears

Are the rears in the V6 cars the same as the V8 cars? The car I just got has a 3.90 gear in it. I dont really like it. I want a 3.42. We just got a junk 99 V6 car with a 3.42 and a locker. If its the same I'll use it.

3 and 4 ch is traction control vs no traction control IIRC. either way you've got to use the right one to retain ABS and traction control

My girlfriend drives this thing everyday. Im just trying to get some MPG out of it. I'll keep the 3.90 rear. If I dont like the 3.42. I'll change it back, but I dont see that happening. Hell it changes to second before you get across the intersection the way it is now. I'll check on the 3 and 4 chanel thing tomorrow.

not worth changing the gear, imo. at least thats what my lazy a55 says. might help a teensy bit, but wont be a big savings. would take forever to recoup the gear/install cost. 4 channel abs came on cars with traction control. if your car has the button on the dash, it should be 4 channel. otherwise, its 3 channel.

Its not going to cost me anything. We paid $300 for the V6 car that has the rear I want. We will end up getting $400. When we scrap it. I got a lot of parts off it. And there is more to it than just the MPG. The gear in it whines, and it sees a lot of highway miles. Get tired of it turning 3000 rpm. It has a slp loud mouth. It lives up to its name.

Better off putting quiet exhaust on it. The gear won't make but about 150rpm difference on the highway.

It has a overdrive. It turns 2800 at 80. Its going to make more than a 150 rpm difference. I'll look it up when I get back home.

My car has 4.11's, auto, and a badbob customs bullet dumped at the axle. It sucks.
