I won the Street Mod Championship last year and looks like I'm winning it this year. Street Mod a near unlimited 4seater class. Roush Mustangs, Evos and STIs.
Last weekend I was at the TOD for 3 days so I got burned on driving; I did 2 runs on the AutoX track and then just hung out.

I know what you mean, I had fun going to the racetrack, but then I was sitting in the pits longer than I was watching the races. It got old...

What happened to streetmod? Just took a look at the results over this past year and there's hardly anyone in the class except for Mustangs and GTOs. Hardly any Evos or STis. Not to mention I think that by adding SM2 and Super-SM, has thinned out the class. Things have definitely changed in SCR since I left because it wasn't common for the STU class to be faster than SM class. There was even a friggin Marauder in SM? If I come back to SC, I'll skip that class and go to where the competition is at.
Congrats on getting the most points in Street-Mod, though. BTW, I thought you were supposed to go to "Pro" status after winning a class? |

Miker I mean I have to give it to ya, that looked fun. Have at it man, can you get better tires or are just over powering the car/setup?
I ask from a open opinion, I know next to nothing about autocross.

This year has been weak as most of my SM competition is broken or moving to BRZs; CCR has a good showing in SM tho.

I have enough brakes/suspension for power I make; just lack tire.

Yup. Autocross uses a "PAX" system that is like a handicap in golf.
The BRZ is in C-Stock and has a really powerful handicap; the only better car currently PAX wise is the Audi TT.

Gonna suck for a lot of them when the new tire rules take effect next season. No more r-comp bitches! (stock classes)

No r-comps in stock will just raise the costs of racing with people running shaved re-11s, rivals or rs3s.
No one runs super sports.

Having R-comp allowed in stock classes made no sense to me. Let me back-up...it did make sense in that the Stock classes were always the most competitive in Topeka, and the big dog racers (guys who bought the newest stock hotness each year and wrapped it with A6's) didn't want the boat rocked.
Maybe SCCA finally heard all of the quiet laughter in the room when people called it "stock". Kinda like NASCAR. Driver and Tires account for about 60-70% of Autox, IMO. Last edited by ///Mcompact; 10-31-2013 at 12:27 AM. |

SCCA AutoX classes are fucking rigged anyways. if you dont have whatever the best car is you will NOT be competitive... in a class with a miata? guess what you're gonna lose... in a class with an S2000, guess what you're fucked...
I still think the whole thing of being allowed to run whatever width tire based on class it dumb too... why in the hell can a turbo cobalt run a 285 all around when it comes with a 225/40R18 stock???
