Default Screw Callifornia

Friend of mine that I was in the Navy with is about to drive from California to Texas to save money on catalytic converters. The stealership is charging her 3000 to do it vise 1000 in Texas. She said the law states that only a car 10 years or older may utilize aftermarket parts. It is an 07 Ford Explorer. I wish there was something I could do cause this shit is retarded!

well hope he dont have to pay again when cali finds he didnt get them from there. i went through this a year or so ago with a customer that was moving back to cali for school and before she left here she need converters replaced on her 4runner. i checked on aftermarket replacement cats for it which i was told that unless they are bought in cali they wont pass there inspection bc all cats legal for cali are sold in cali and have a serial number stamped on them. the dealer wanted 3K for 2 cats for this truck which i was told that it may still not be legal due to being sold to a state other than cali. and the over 10yr deal is correct on aftermarket parts. just tell him to double and triple check that everything will work out with getting them out of state or he may have to do it again.

F%#k cali

I thought there was a 10yr warranty on emissions parts.
