Well that did not work out so well. the last time I was at the track was dorchester 2 weeks ago. We spent saturday getting the car ready. Changed the oil and the trans fluid. Found a problem with the front brakes fixed that. Put a electric fuel presure gauge in the car so I could tell how it was doing going down the track on the bottle and I run the valves. So I go out their to make my first pass. I allway run my first pass on the motor just to see how its doing. If Im going to have problems I want it to be on motor. Well it started skipping. I was playing with the throttle a little as I was going down the track and found that it would only do it when I opened the back barrels on the carb. So I thought it was something breaking up when I put it under a load. I checked the plugs because they have been in their for a while and sure enough they looked bad. Drove to the next town and got some plugs. Came back and changed them. Tryed to make another pass and the same thing. Was looking for something else and I noticed the top of the distributor was wet. My brother said he spilled a little oil on it when we were filling the trans back up. So I took it apart and cleaned it up. Wasnt really wet inside but I did notice were the wires plug into the side of the distributor the plastic that goes between the two wires was burnt. I fixed that and went and tryed it again. Same thing. So now Im running out of stuff to check. Im sitting there trying to think of what it might be and my brother says "I no what it is!" Check to see if the nitrous switch is on and sure enough that was it. I never put a bottle in it and I left the switch on from when we were at dorchester. So I go out their and run my motor pass. Come back put the bottle in it. And start heating it up. Get it where I want it. Go back around to staging and find that its closed. Never got to make a nitrous pass. DAMN

Damn Wade, long drive to have trouble. Glad you got it figured out.
I think the grimlins got tired of messing with the Lightning and now are following you on the Chevelle. |
