inshore fishing?

anyone do inshore fishing for spot tail and various other inshore fish. we live on the water way/blackriver/pee dee,winyah bay and i love fidhing and am seriously tired of not catching a thing.

i have been looking into sport tail particularly as they say where i live is amazing for it..

willing to take someone out on our boat have a good time relax fish have dinner ect ect.. we like to fish but have 0 knowledge on it.

And the only avid fisher I know on here is Chillerman he goes deep sea fishing all the time . He usually has some nice catches of mahi mahi ( the last batch you gave me tasted awesome Will ) and whatever else .

sounds bad ass.. i am not really intrested in deep sea... i am more intrested in inshore/spot tail/reds... i have priced taking a charter thats like 400-700 which is steep concidering they will be fishing my backyard. and seminars on ur boat are 350-600 for 6 hours..

im just looking for someone to give me some tips show us how to rig and proper ways of fishing for them.

i love deepsea/gamefish fishing it just i love where people catch killlerrrr spot tail and id love to jus be aboe to take the boat out during the week or on a lazy day and actually catch something.

I fish, but only freshwater and mostly on my boat with a long pole with a pitchfork attached to it and a 2 million candlewatt spotlight at nite. I go fishing about 2 times a year, only cause when you bring home a 48 quart cooler full each time you go, it takes a while to eat your supply down.

Its not Illegal, contrary to popular belief. You can only gig a certian ammount of some species, and if its not game fish, like arkansas blue catfish, you can gig as many as you can hold.

I stick to the 20-30 pounders though, I got hold of a 50 pounder and a gator once and went swiming in freezing water. I've seen some, that look like a VW Bug underwater too.....

spottail love to feed on things coming out of the grass (outgoing tide) or high tide. use some mud minnows with around a 2 foot leader and hook him through the lips. not too far back where it will go through his brain. use a large cork, try different depths and fish the grass edges. you will catch spots and other type fish like this. finger sized mullet fish works well too. hope this helps good luck!

Come to Chas. and go to the grillage. It's just off the Moultrie side of Sullivans Island. The big redfish run through there when the tide is running. 2-3 hrs. on either side of the tide. Live bait is great. Finger mullet or menhaden. Fish on the bottom with a fish finder rig on a mono or flourocarbon leader and about 4-6 ozs. of lead. Wait till the big horse hits and hold on.

Go to Charlestonfishing.com for locations and rigs. There's a ton of info there to help you target the reds. Also fishing the flats with fly's, grubs, or live minnows/mullet up in the grass when the reds are tailing works great as well.

I primarily fish deep sea for the mahi-mahi, tuna, and wahoo. I used to fish this area all the time with great success and is still a producer today!

thx man.. i aprreciate it.. but i live on the black river.. as in dock/boat in my back yard.. i am trying to get a handle on my backyard per say...

everyone says their is amazing fishing inshore/the bay where i live. so thats what i am trying.. i bookmarked the chasfishing site and hope i can get some info their..

i guess i need to start going to the seminars.. and see what all i can take from it.
