My heads and cams cost nearly what your whole motor swap did, my blower cost nearly what your whole motor swap did, my rotating assembly cost nearly what your whole motor swap did. Add it up and youll get an idea. I should have went LS. lol

how old are you? job status? student? only car?
a LS trade is the only logical answer, but it could take a long time if you hit a snag, and esp if you need a MBT of $$ to recover from the snag. if you are young, you will be looking to trade around soon, and i think a LSx swap will be better to sell than a SBC upgrade. FWIW, we put a Performer RPM intake on a 305 H.O. (back when Vanilla Ice was cool), and it was soft on bottom, but it rolled out on mid/top end for what it was. i say drive it as is, and just talk about it. once you take it off the road, and apart, you got problems.
