A couple of days ago there was an assembler B structures job that the requisition closed on. I got hired because I had prior aircraft experience. They were doing the mass hiring for final assembly at that time. Personally I would like to see more car guys out here. Also I know there are a lot of us that got relocated, but the majority are from the south.

How about actually getting hired (through readysc program and temp agency for probation period), waiting almost a year to start, being the best in your training class and then getting fired for asking a question about attendance policy? They don't care about getting quality personnel there, they just want sheep willing to work for low pay.

I have aircraft and manufacturing experience, btw.

Good thing this isn't a town dependent upon Boeing for the populations employment. It's not the end of the world.

MAU is hiring employees for Bosch last I heard. Worth a shot.

Yeah I really don't like the A mechanic program through ready sc. It reminds me a lot of the pay scale that michelin brought in a few years ago. Pay people 6 bucks less per hr and think they are going to work beside the other guy doing a job that is worth a shit. For that matter they would do any job worth a shit for $13/hr. I would suggest sticking to the jobs on Boeings home site. That way you don't have to deal with the contract companies. As a blue badge you pretty much have to have porn on your company phone or threaten someone to get fired.

Where I work it is. Fire Marshall wanted to shut down the plant for many reasons. Would have shut the city down for the most part. Would take about 5-6 months.

There is Hallon? sp* system in place in the IT room where I work. It has not been serviced and swapped out for the non lethal stuff (whatever that is) since 2003.

Fun times....they keep on churning out lawn mowers though!

Believe you are referring to halon. It isn't so much lethal itself but it will push the oxygen from an area and then that would kill you.

It really depends on what area you work in though too, some managers see everyone the same and some don't, the people that I work for are great, I work over in AFT Body. I actually got brought on as a contractor after applying for a direct job, they are bringing a lot of people on as contractors and seeing how you work out before bringing you on as a direct.
A lot of managers in the 19 and 20 buildings will treat you the same as the blue badge guys. FWIW I do think if Joe had been a Boeing employee he would still be here, but keep in mind I only know what he told me. I don't think Boeing is any worse on the contractor vs direct issue than any other big company.

Company called WOW (Western something or other).

They bought brand new vans, bucket trucks, and all sorts of other goodies.

Knology's downfall as they spent too much on their network. And they were trying to be way too competitive with Comcast/TW. So hopefully WOW may learn something in that regard.
