Default MGW shifters

http://www.mgwltd.com/
They seem to be all the hype on all the other car boards. I am looking at getting both their C6 shifter AND their C6 shifter control box. Anyone here have one on their car? I would like to feel what it feels like, as some people say it takes some getting used to....

They've received many great reviews on corvetteforum for years. I don't ever hear anything negative about them. The higher the short throw percentage (ie 30% shorter throw, etc) the more effort it will take to shift. Most come with a self-centering spring but not all (generally speaking, not MGW).

I'd say go for it. I don't know much about the C6s and their shifter control box but never heard of that upgrade on a C5.

Drove a '10 SS with one and really liked it. I would have put one in the C6Z if I still had it.

I have one in my 500. Great quality and finish. A real improvement over the stock shifter. I think what makes it better than the others is the adjustable ratio feature. You can tailor it to your personal preference.

I talked to the guy that owns the place at mustang week for a bit. Although I dont remember his name he was a real stand up guy and sells a very nice product. He also offers a military discount. When I take the plunge to replace my shifter it will be for a MGW.

PRO5.0 is garbage, TriAx w/ comfort pro handle is my 2nd favorite shifter.

Not sure what vehicle you had yours in but in a 4th gen F-body, there is not a better shifter. I tried SLP short throw, Hurst Competition, Hurst Pro Billet, B&M Ripper and finally a PRO 5.0 w/Lou's short stick; search was over. I wish they made one for the vettes.

MGW is the best one out there Ryan, buy it and you will not be disappointed. If you are; I'll trade you my Z06 Short Throw shifter and cash.

I have a modded MGW shifter in my GTO. Its ok, i like the factory one best though. People rant and rave about how much they like them.

pro 5.0 that i used in my 04GT for a short while was junk. the shift lever was WAY too short for no reason whatsoever.

I liked the stock G8 shifter that everyone bitched and complained about as well.
