Theres a big difference in power potential between 93 and E85.

If I was interested in running his kind of times Id have to buy C16 because my fuel system wont support E85.

In all honesty though I hope every time that Rob goes to the track that he gets a new best and I know he wishes the same for me. Hes a good racer, competitor, mechanic and friend.

He has set the bar high and I hope to run his times or better in due time.

I have found out that its much more affordable to buy light weight parts to go quicker than it is to buy more horsepower. Its less stressful on parts too.

So what's next for dropping weight?

Id love to do a TH400, 9", manual rack, tubular lower control arms and fiber glass leafs but thats a lot of $$$$. I wish I had the funds to do an aluminum block too.

Great way to look at competition. I always hope those I am gunning for get faster. It makes me think and do extra. That is fun for me.

And +1 on weight savings being easier on parts. But as for price? At my level it is running about $1K per tenth by getting lighter weight stuff. Getting 2 tenths or better getting knocked off right now in upstate Connectiucut. Yep, a pretty penny.

And this is why a lot of True Racers don't give a shit about dyno numbers. They understand that there is now a bigger picture in the equation!

I played the weight reduction game years ago. It is expensive but damn its worth it! There is an article on the vette forum right now where one shop is challening another to see who can get their Z06 from 3,100 down to 2,800 while still keeping it street legal, and full interior. They both have by now spent close to 10k each and are still 100lb short of their goal. Cool thing is; they are posting the results of every part and its weight reduction for all to see!
